Project: Costuming
Well, I think the consensus is black, because: a) While a color would be an option, coordinating shades is a bitch long-distance unless you go for the mitchy-matchy bridesmaid dressed; b) It's always classy. On the other hand, Ellen K. pointed out it might be tough to find black dresses in summer. So hows about this:
We've got until July to find the dang things, but if black becomes difficult we should rethink our options by late May/early June. Go forth and shop if you're using this as an excuse to get a new little black dress, otherwise pull the old formal out of the closet. When you find a dress, please post a pic or show it to me in person when we get a chance, so everybody knows what we've got. When we've all got a dress, we cross the things off our list. If anybody can't find a good black one by late May, we'll rethink our options or help her out. We're all awesome shoppers, so we should be able to do this.

hey chica - already have the dress - I'll post a picture of it sometime soon ... later
I have e-mailed you with a couple ideas at a web site. The one I like best is the one with the alternate color of grape. Let me know what you think.
