Poor, Neglected Wedding Blog

I've been meaning to post status updates. Really. Thing is, there's so much that has gotten done I've got a lot to write . . . and so much left to do I have no time to write it.

So here's a copy of our engagement photo instead, just for fun:

The latest:
I've invested in a new printer. It had to be done. The old one had two issues: 1) The driver was whacked, and causing progressively worse problems. First it made the printer disappear. No big deal, power down and power up. Then it started causing errors in the computer. Much bigger deal, especially after one or two rounds with the blue screen of death. An hour with the HP tech department uninstalling and reinstalling the software (an interesting project, since my CD drive is also broken right now) did no good. 2) There is a hardware issue with the carriage return. Every now and again it would make a horrible crunchy noise and stop dead. Basic cleanings didn't solve it. It became more frequent. Upshot: When I tried to start printing programs Sunday, it took me over two hours of babysitting the machine to get 25 sheets. One-sided. I need a total of 150 two-sided sheets.

I hated spending the money, which we emphatically do not have right now. I need a multi-function printer for my work, so it wasn't like getting some little cheapo thing at Walmart. But the one I got . . . it prints duplex. Automatically. I tested it out at about 12:30 last night after I got it all set up. I can just put the program sheets in, hit print and walk away. Yeah, the duplexing isn't super-fast, since it has a lag time for ink drying. But I don't have to be there for it. I don't have to come fix a jam or error every fifteen minutes. Woo hoo!!!!!!

This may allow me to actually get normal work done, and prevent future "Omigod I'll never get all this done, and why have I not billed any hours in forever, my clients and the judges are all going to kill me" meltdowns.
